Seven Months!

Trip was seven months old on Friday. As you can see, he was much more cooperative for the pictures this time.

He is sitting so well now and loves to play with toys. While he was at work with me on Friday, I sat him down on a blanket and gave him his toys and he had fun playing while I got things done.

He is also eating more foods. We have recently tried avocado and butternut squash, both of which he likes. He has decided that he does not like green beans and gets upset if we try to feed him some. Sweet potatoes and bananas are his favorites. He also likes Cheerios and fruit-flavored puffs. He's even starting to pick up the cereal to feed himself. He hasn't totally figured it out yet, but it's fun to watch him learn.

I had to take a picture of him during his nap yesterday. He was just so cute. He likes to sleep on his side now.

Splish Splash!

As I gave Trip a bath one evening this week, I was thinking back to his first bath and how tiny he was in his little tub. I was figuring that it had been almost exactly six months since that first bath and that it was high time for another bath picture.

That first bath ...

... and now.

The funnest part about Trip's bath that evening was that he discovered splashing. He had done it some before, but this week he realized how to really do it and how fun it is. I was laughing at his facial expressions as he kept splashing himself in the face. It was so cute!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a staff Valentine's lunch at school on Friday, so Trip got to wear his special bib. He sat in his Bumbo seat on the table while we ate and entertained everyone. It was pretty cute.

After school, we went to visit Kirk at work. Trip's sitting skills have really taken off this week. He can now sit independently for several minutes at a time.

Getting some love from Daddy. I love this one!

He got to play with the cute Serta sheep too.

Talking, Sitting, and Having Fun

Life has seemed extra crazy lately. Trip has spent most of the week with a cold, making him somewhat miserable. It seems like he's probably working on his next set of teeth as well.

My partner teacher, Patricia took this picture just before Christmas. I just saw it today and had to get a copy of it.

Here he is in my classroom on Friday, showing off his sitting skills.

Six Months and Counting

January 26 was Trip's half birthday. We are continually amazed by him and thankful for such a sweet boy. He's definitely becoming more active and learning lots of new things. It's getting harder to get a good picture of him with his monkey. This time he just wanted to play.

His two bottom teeth are out and growing, which means that he still likes to chew on lots of different things. Our fingers and his bibs are his favorites, making the following pictures a common sight. Kirk got him textured teething toy last week that he really likes too. He's eating several different kinds of vegetables now and loving all of them. He gets quite upset if we don't get that food to his mouth fast enough.

Trip loves his toys and playing with other kids. Our friend and former neighbor, Kristen started watching him this week. She watches a few other kids too and says that Trip laughs at and talks to them all day. He comes home tired from all the activity.

He's almost sitting by himself. He has done it a few times and gets stronger each day.
